Help your child grow in tennis without pushing harder.
At 359, parents are part of the environment around the child. Clear communication and progress language make development calmer and stronger.
You're doing your best. But without guidance, involvement often becomes: pressure, doubt, frustration. For you — and for your child.
The problem isn't your intention. The problem is that you've never learned how to guide.
Parent System is part of The 359 Method — our overarching development methodology.
The biggest mistake parents make isn't what they do — it's that they don't know what they're doing.

359.tennis offers a parent platform with information, guidance, and involvement for parents of tennis students. Including the Parent Handbook, Parent System, and communication channels at NTC Amstelveen, near Amsterdam.

Recognizable situations
The following situations are common and always well-intentioned. Yet they can unintentionally have a different effect on the child than expected.
You say something well-intentioned — but it lands the wrong way
The child becomes torn between coach and parent, loses focus and feels double pressure.
You want to help — but you're making it harder
The child learns they are not good enough as they are. Motivation shifts from enjoyment to fear.
You see potential — but don't know how to guide it
Overload and loss of intrinsic motivation. Rest and play are also part of development.
You wonder: am I pushing too hard or not enough?
The child learns that love and approval depend on results, not effort.
Involvement is valuable. Direction makes it powerful.
Why parent guidance matters so much
Most parents mean well. But that's exactly where things often go wrong.
Without awareness, the following quickly emerges:
Pressure instead of support
Confusion instead of direction
Reaction instead of guidance
Performance focus instead of development
A player doesn't develop in isolation from the parent. A better parent is an investment in your child — and in yourself.
What does a child really need?
Not more instructions — but better guidance. A child doesn't develop through training alone, but through the environment — and you are a crucial part of that.

Discover the 359 Parent SystemYour child isn't the only one who can grow
Every child is different. Every parent is different. Every approach must therefore be different. The 359 Method doesn't just look at technique or behaviour, but at the right balance of:
Fit
Body
Energy, tension, workload, recovery — also for parents under pressure.
Fun
Heart
Enjoyment, connection, safety, relationship — the foundation of involvement without pressure.
Focus
Mind
Communication, calm, awareness, choices — responding more consciously as a parent.
Fit · Fun · Focus™ — for your child and for the way you observe, guide and respond as a parent.
359 Parent System
Not loose tips, but a way of learning to observe, think and guide. With the 359 Method you learn to:
Know your child better
Know yourself better as a parent
Respond differently under pressure
Communicate more effectively
Bring more calm and direction
Support growth and enjoyment
This is not loose guidance. This is a way of learning to observe, think and guide — that develops you as a parent.
The result?
Not just a better guided child, but also: more calm, more confidence, more connection, more conscious parenting — and personal growth for the parent themselves.

Policies & agreements
A mature sporting environment requires mature guidance
359.tennis does not work ad hoc. We work with structure, clear guidelines and professional standards — because children's development deserves that.
We protect every player's development environment. This means we don't just guide the child, but consciously invest in the context around the player — including the role of parents.
We take responsibility for the total development environment.
Our vision on collaboration
Parental involvement is a strength. It gives children support, confidence and a sense of security. At the same time, that involvement requires direction — because not every well-intentioned intervention helps development.
We work as one team. Coaches, the organisation and parents together form the system around the player. Scheduling and coach assignments are managed centrally. Continuity and long-term development take priority over individual preferences.
Coaches do not make commitments about scheduling or specific group placements. The organisation makes the final decisions — always in the player's best interest.
Why parent guidance is essential
Parents act out of love and involvement. That is the driving force behind everything they do for their child. But involvement can — unintentionally — create pressure that slows development rather than accelerates it.
Children need different things at different stages. What feels logical to a parent is not always what is most effective from a developmental perspective. Development requires knowledge of phasing — and our coaches are trained in this.
Collaboration between parents and coaches prevents miscommunication and strengthens the child's confidence.
Why we offer this
Many parents want the best for their child. Yet specific knowledge about sports development is often lacking. Unconscious pressure or acceleration can hinder development.
Professional guidance helps parents develop calm, clarity and role awareness.
The goal is always: a stable, safe and development-oriented environment for the player.
