What does a camp day look like?
What we work on during the camp
Technique
Forehand, backhand, serve, volley and smash — step by step, matched to age and level.
Movement
Footwork, balance and coordination, so children move faster and more stably on court.
Game understanding
Making choices, building points and understanding why you play a ball where you do.
Match play
Singles, doubles and team matches: handling nerves, rules and working together.
Fair play
Dealing with winning and losing, respect and positive behaviour — on and off court.
Every child works on a personal goal
At the start of the week each child chooses one personal goal together with the coach. We work on it all week — and it is part of the Progress Report.
Longer rallies
Improving timing, control and consistency so rallies last longer.
A better serve
Practising motion, rhythm and ball toss for a clean, repeatable serve.
Daring to attack
Taking initiative, stepping forward and recognising opportunities.
More consistency
Repetition and stability, with fewer unforced errors.
Sport & fun off the court
Besides tennis, children get a broad and challenging sports programme.

Tennis camp in Amstelveen: where, for whom and when
Where the camp takes place
The 359 tennis camps run at the National Tennis Centre (NTC) / TV De Kegel, Bovenkerkerweg 81, 1187 XC Amstelveen. There are indoor and outdoor courts, so the programme continues in any weather. Parking is available at the venue for drop-off and pick-up.
Easy to reach from the region
Children come from all over Amstelveen — Westwijk, Bovenkerk, Middenhoven, Groenelaan and the Old Village — as well as from Amsterdam-Zuid, Buitenveldert, Uithoorn, Aalsmeer and Ouderkerk aan de Amstel. Many cycle; by car you reach us via the A9 and the N521.
Who the camp is for
Ages 4 to 15, from complete beginner to competition player. We group by age and level, so a child who has just started fits in just as well as one who already plays matches. Club membership is not required — everyone can sign up.
When we run camps
Camp weeks are planned during the Dutch school holidays for region North (including the May, summer and autumn holidays). Current dates and available places are shown in the registration overview. See also our annual planning.
Tennis camp or training week — which fits better?
Choose a tennis camp if…
- your child needs a full day of care and sport (09:00–16:30, lunch included)
- fun, new friends and lots of movement matter as much as technique
- your child also wants to try other sports alongside tennis
Choose a training week if…
- your child wants focused tennis work in shorter daily blocks
- technique and game insight are the main reason to come
- a full day is too long, or it has to fit around other plans
