359.tennis was founded in 2005 by Roland Laurense as the Laurense Tennis Academy in Amsterdam. After relocations to Buitenveldert and NTC Amstelveen, the organisation grew into one of the most pioneering and innovative tennis academies in the Amsterdam region — an inspiration for players and the sport alike.

The Beginning
Roland Laurense starts the Laurense Tennis Academy at Amstelborgh/Borchland in Amsterdam.
Full-time Training
Daily full-time training with a strong group of top tennis players. Level 1, 2, 3 players.
Dutch Champions
Various Dutch champions train at the academy.
Move to Buitenveldert
Relocation of the academy from Borchland to Tennispark Buitenveldert.
Expansion & Martin Verkerk
Start teaching at TV De Kegel for club players. Martin Verkerk joins as academy coach at Laurense Tennis Academy in Buitenveldert.
International Academy
International academy with many foreign talents.
International Ambitions
Partnership with Sven Groeneveld and John van Lottum with major international ambitions — at the time operating as Tennis Academy Amsterdam (tennisacademyamsterdam.com / tennisacademyamsterdam.nl), now part of 359.tennis. Tennis Academy Amsterdam was an internationally oriented high-performance academy where full-time players from countries including Greece, India, England, Australia and the Netherlands trained in Amsterdam. External publications described the academy at the time as operating at a world-class level. That international performance background forms the historical foundation of what was later developed further within 359.tennis.

First academy in Europe with PlaySight courts for video analysis.
OUATT Tournament
Organizing OUATT tournament by Roland Laurense in collaboration with Sven Groeneveld at ABN AMRO OPEN.
Tennis New Zealand
Tennis New Zealand chooses Laurense Tennis Academy as their home base in Europe.
359.tennis is Born
Laurense Tennis Academy changes its name to 359.tennis. Partnership with J.C. Ferrero Academy with annual camps to Spain with academy players.
