10,000+ players trained20+ years experienceNTC Amstelveen

Not everyone plays tennis for the same reason. So we do not train everyone the same way.

With Fit · Fun · Focus, we read what a player needs and design lessons around movement, enjoyment and progress.

359.tennis is a tennis school in Amstelveen where we develop players and people through tennis.

Not just technique. Not just competitions.
    But character, attitude and growth.

The Development System is part of The 359 Method and explains how Fit · Fun · Focus™ are applied in training.

The 359 Development System is built on three pillars: Fit (physical development), Fun (enjoyment and motivation), and Focus (mental growth). The model is applied at all levels — from beginners to academy players — at 359.tennis at NTC Amstelveen, near Amsterdam.

    The 359 Method — Fit · Fun · Focus™

The Three Pillars: Fit · Fun · Focus™

The practical system at the heart of The 359 Method

    FIT

    Body

Physical development, motor skills, coordination and energy. A strong and energetic body is the foundation for moving more freely, playing better and enjoying the game more.

    FUN

    Heart

Enjoyment, motivation, connection and teamwork. Sport only truly works when people feel safe, enjoy themselves and want to keep coming back.

    FOCUS

    Mind

Attention, concentration, decision-making, analysis and reflection. Mental skills that help you on court — and beyond.

    Every lesson contains all three.

Every player has their own dominant motivation.

    359 Progress System

    How we guide growth

Development is not accidental. The 359 Progress System is the structured way we make growth visible, measure it and guide it — as part of The 359 Method.

    Small recognition moments

During every lesson, we recognise effort, attitude and progress.

    Periodic evaluations

Regular moments to reflect on development together.

    Seasonal reflection

At the end of each season, we make growth visible.

    Personal goals

Every player works towards their own goals. Not someone else's.

    Our starting point

    Growth matters more than results

    Effort outweighs talent

Making mistakes is allowed — it's part of the process

Every child has their own pace

    The 359 Development Pathway

Alongside the tennis colour stages (Red → Orange → Green → Yellow), players also follow a personal development pathway within The 359 Method.

    What sets us apart

We don't compare players with each other — we compare them with themselves
We build character — not just technique
We measure human growth, not just tennis results
    We encourage ownership and self-reflection
Our coaches are internally trained in The 359 Method

"Win or learn. Both are victories."

The 359 Method is not about perfection. It's about progress. That's why we are 359 — always room for improvement.

    Origin

The 359 Method was developed through years of coaching experience at 359.tennis — our academy in Amstelveen.

What started as an internal coaching philosophy evolved into a complete methodology. Every lesson, every season and every coach at 359.tennis contributes to refining The 359 Method.

    359 and Competition

At 359® we believe that competition is essential for development. Matches make players stronger — physically, mentally and emotionally.

That's why we actively encourage playing matches and competition.

Our focus is not on the score, but on the process. On goals that players can control themselves:

    Preparation
    Effort
    Attitude
    Focus
    Sportsmanship
    Executing a game plan

    Results are never fully controllable.
    Attitude and behaviour are.

    Progress. Not Perfection.

    Parent System

    The role of parents

Development goes beyond the lesson. We ask parents to:

    Support positively
    Not coach during matches
    Encourage effort over results

Together we build a culture of trust and growth.
