Tournaments are not won by trying harder in the moment. They're won by repeating a simple system: Fit – Fun – Focus. Explore our juniors programme or read about smart junior training.
1) The day before your match
Good preparation starts the day before.
- •Light hit for rhythm (no long grinding)
- •Pack early: grips, water, snack, tape
- •Prioritize sleep
2) Warm-up (10–15 minutes)
A good warm-up is your insurance.
- •Easy jog + mobility
- •Accelerate and decelerate
- •Footwork + split-step timing
- •Shadow swings
- •Then start hitting
3) Tactics: pick one main plan
Keep it simple. One plan executed 70% is better than ten ideas executed 10%.
- •70% crosscourt until you get a short ball
- •Serve to backhand, first ball deep
- •High-margin tennis early, then increase pressure
4) Mindset: progress over perfection
Focus on growth, not the score.
- •One focus goal per set
- •After errors: breathe + cue word
- •Score is feedback, not identity
Key takeaways
- ✓Routines calm your mind
- ✓One plan beats many ideas
- ✓Recovery is part of performance
